Dual tip muffler made by Hirai Style for the NB (1998 to 2005) MX-5 Miata. This gives the Roadster a nice and aggressive look while bringing a bit of retro style from past roadsters. It comes in a silenced (muffler) version only (straight has been discontinued). It is made of SUS442 which is strong against the expansion and contraction due to heat. - Is the metal plate on the bumper a necessary modification or will it be fine without it?

  It was metallic tape, but it's not included nor necessary to have. You don't need to cut into the bumper either, it can just install as-is!
